The Film List is a husband and wife (Matthew & Toni) team dedicated to sharing our love of film. It began as us choosing three films each, assigning each a number 1-6 and using a random number generator to pick from the six selected films, so the final number drawn would be the selected film to watch, a new pick is then be added for the film that was watched. It eliminated wasted nights of indecision and led to us watching a lot more films. From there we began keeping a record of each one we watched and scoring them out of ten. It’s based on our personal enjoyment and cinematic merit so this website is purely subjective. I’m sure there’ll be people who disagree with some opinions but we hope that they’ll at least respect our reasoning. The only times we don’t use our film list method of selection is if its a new release that we are seeing at the Cinema or one that our children want to watch on movie nights.

On our website we intend to look in depth at an eclectic range of genres, time periods and countries of origin. Though we’ll keep abreast of recent releases we will also focus on classics, cult favourites, hidden gems or whatever we feel deserves discussion or highlighting. Our Website is new so there is room for expansion and we will definitely add new sections to the ones that we all already have.
